UCEclipse is now live: Our mobile-first communications solution

We’ve officially launched UCEclipse, a modernised replacement for legacy voice or PBX solutions. Instead of tying users to a desk phone, UCEclipse follows the person across desktop, mobile and traditional handset. As a result, Access4 partners now have a straightforward way to move customers off outdated systems and onto something built for flexibility, with basic call centre features included.

Why UCEclipse? Why now?

Cloud communications adoption in the UK is accelerating. Cavell puts current penetration at around 57%, with over 10 million users already on cloud platforms, and that figure is expected to climb past 85% by 2028.

The market is already moving in this direction, and UCEclipse arrives as a natural product for partners to bring to customers who are ready to make the switch.

A mobile-first solution, built for modern businesses.

UCEclipse takes the core job of a traditional PBX and rebuilds it for a mobile-first world. Users can work from a desktop app, webRTC app, mobile app or a traditional handset, and each option draws on the same underlying system. A user isn’t locked into one device type and can pick whatever fits how they actually work. Someone starts a call on their desktop in the morning, moves to the mobile app between meetings, and picks up a handset in the office later in the day, all without losing continuity or missing anything in between.

This matters because modern teams rarely sit still. Hybrid and remote working mean employees are no longer tied to a single desk or device, yet they still need the reliability of a proper business phone system. UCEclipse closes that gap by giving every user the same experience regardless of where they’re working from, so businesses don’t have to choose between mobility and dependable call handling.

Because UCEclipse is licensed per user, it suits organisations that want predictable licensing tied directly to headcount and makes it a perfect addition to SASBOSS. Rather than juggling costs based on usage or call volume, partners and customers alike can plan around a straightforward, per-seat model that scales cleanly as a business grows.

Built-in call handling and flexible licensing

Alongside standard calling, UCEclipse includes basic call-centre functionality out of the box. That means that advanced, customisable call-centre queues come as part of the platform, rather than as a bolt-on. So, a growing team can add proper call distribution without adopting a full standalone contact centre solution before they actually need one.

UCEclipse is available across three license tiers: Lite, Essentials and Professional. Lite covers the fundamentals, Essentials builds on that with more day-to-day functionality, and Professional is the most comprehensive tier, designed for power users that handle the most inbound calls within the call-centre queues.

Because licensing sits at the user level, partners can mix tiers within the same customer account. The call-centre queue users that handle the most inbound calls might sit on Professional whilst others in the team run on Essentials. For example, without needing separate platforms or contracts to manage that difference. Partners can structure a package that matches how a customer’s team works.

This matters most for smaller teams. A five to eight seat business often needs better call handling than a basic phone line offers but doesn’t need the scale or cost of a dedicated contact centre platform. UCEclipse sits in that gap, giving them room to grow into more advanced features if their needs change.

UCEclipse: Managed within SASBOSS

Like the rest of the Access4 portfolio, UCEclipse is provisioned, quoted and managed through SASBOSS. This keeps the buying and management experience consistent for partners, regardless of which product a customer is on. So, whether a partner is quoting UCEclipse or UCXpress with CX add-ons or any other product in the range, everything runs through the same workflow rather than a separate system for each vendor.

For partners newer to voice, this consistency reduces the learning curve significantly. Since every product in the Access4 range is managed the same way in SASBOSS, a partner doesn’t need deep telecoms expertise to get UCEclipse in front of a customer and provisioned correctly. You just need to know the one platform, SASBOSS.

Greater flexibility than legacy systems

Ultimately, UCEclipse is designed to offer customers more than a legacy voice system ever could. It brings greater flexibility in how and where people work, more scalability as a business grows, and better operational efficiency across the board. Meanwhile, customers keep the reliability and structure of a traditional phone system, just without the hardware constraints that come with it.

For partners, this makes UCEclipse an easy product to position. It replaces something customers already understand, while adding real capability that legacy systems simply can’t match.
